I returned the cool lil' car I rented to drive to Syracuse in today. I was supposed to return it at 2AM, but despite the fact that Avis's online reservation system allowed me to enter 2AM as a time to return cars, they were quite closed at that time. I was unhappy. I returned it when I woke up the next morning. Daddy gave me the keys to one of his cars. It's a Dodge Daytona. It has this weird little keypad thing in it, with a flashing light, and the guy who sold him the car told him he wasn't sure that the thing was, and to just leave it alone. It's assumed it's some thing a code has to be typed into, given to frequent DWI offenders, so that if they're too drunk to enter the code, they're too drunk to drive. Now, I don't know about you, but I was pretty wrecked on New Year's Eve, and still did quite well dialing a phone to call the Fearless Leader. So if this little thing only works when one is just that much more trashed than I was, I think they need a better system. Anyway, no one knows what the code for this thing is, but left alone the car still works, so Dad just says don't touch it. It's pretty weird. Anyone who has any suggestions as to what it really is and how to get rid of it is quite welcome to clue me in. |
