That was a hell of a drive. All went well getting there, though we didn't leave here until after nine in the morning. I drove up, after having driven 10 hours home yesterday. Rob and Mom slept some on the way. We managed to pack everything up fairly quickly, then set out from Corning at about 5PM. I gave up driving after I started hallucinating, and Mom drove the car, Rob drove the truck full o' stuff. All was going fairly well, except for Mom continually driving off the highway onto other highways, and then yelling at me for not telling her not to. We lost Rob at the George Washington Bridge, and we drove home. He couldn't take the way we knew home, because he couldn't drive the truck on a parkway, and didn't actually know the way home. At all. He ended up finding his way home about 1.5 hours after we did, after driving on a parkway, and having to run someone off the road after realizing how close he was to a bridge with a 9' something clearance, in a 10'something truck. The bridge was an arch, so he drove safely (well, relatively safely) through the middle. He's such a good brother. |
