I leave the house to go to work today...brush off the approximately .5" accumulation of snow from the car, fire it up, and drive off to AIP. I was happy to be pretty much on time for once. I get a really good parking spot, 'cause I got to work 10 minutes early. I wander in, sit at my desk, and begin to answer the stupid emails from the allegedly brilliant physicists. My manager wanders into my cubicle.

"Oh, you came in too..."
I stare, a bit confused.
"There was a two hour delayed opening."

It never occurred to me to call the little weather line for .5" of snow. But never you fear. Those extra two hours I worked today will come in handy. I'll be late one day. One day when it's 73F and sunny... I'll claim I was late because I couldn't find the phone. And I was calling, just in case.
