I brought a salad for lunch today. By the time I got to work, the plastic top on the container, which has become rather warped from many trips through the dishwasher, fell off. A few cucumbers were floating around in the plastic shopping bag that the container of salad was in, so I put them back in the container. I check the bag to see if there was any dirt in it that might have gotten in the salad, and what, of all things, do I see? A dried up dead spider. I have no proof that this spider touched a cucumber, but then, I have no proof that it didn't. And I already put them back in the container. I managed to retain enough composure to realize that through it's history as plants, a good number of bugs may have touched the salad, maybe even a few other spiders. So, I filled the container with water, and shook it up, and drained it out a few times. |
